Main Floor Gallery: Ball State University Advanced Painting Classes
Upper Level Gallery: "It's Not Your Mother's Refrigerator Anymore"
Opening reception: Thursday, February 5, 2009: 5-8 pm
The main floor gallery will feature the artwork of Ball State University Advanced Painting students. The show will include pieces done in a variety of mediums; watercolors, acrylics, oils and encaustics will be featured. BSU painting professors selected the work for the exhibit.

The upper level gallery will host "It's Not Your Mother's Refrigerator Anymore". This exhibit of small paintings (12"x12" or smaller) is a juried show with the BSU Art Department Painting Faculty selecting the pieces for the exhibit from an assignment given BSU painting classes.

Both shows will have a combined opening reception with music, light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artists.

The opening is free and open to the public from 5-8 pm, Thursday February 5, 2009.

Most artwork will be for sale and all work will remain on exhibit through February 28, 2009.

Art Gallery:
"First Thursday" is the monthly opening of new art exhibits held by the downtown galleries. As a participating gallery, the Artist Within showcases local artists with a new one-man show every month; occasionally there is a second show opening in the upper level gallery. "First Thursday" is held the first Thursday of each month from 5-8pm; festivities include a "meet the artist" reception with food, music and an opportunity to visit with the artist. Artists interested in showing their work should contact us at the Artist Within.
